Welcome!
A little background on the Lindesberg, Orebro, Sweden project from the contributor himself, Brent Ericson:
I started doing genealogy when I was 15 years old. I got my first book of remembrance
from my mother. I had my genealogy back about 20 generation in England and about
10 generations in Denmark.
The one line that had not been worked on was my Swedish genealogy. My mother
sent to Sweden and had a Swedish researcher do some of the work.
About 20 years ago I started to check and add information on my Swedish ancestry.
I found that the only records that had been used were the clerical surveys,
which are in most parts correct. None of the birth, marriage or death records
had been used by the Swedish researcher.
I first stated to follow the individual one at a time. The people in the parishes,
before the late 1800s, did not keep very good track of the women in the parish.
I spent 15 years looking for the people individually.
I came to the conclusion that it would be faster to do the entire parish putting
all of the people listed into families. I started doing this about 7 years ago.
I have extracted the birth, marriage, and death records from the original hand
written records. I am still working the 1650, 1660 and 1670s for all of the
records and after 1806 on the death records.
Using the clerical surveys, the birth , marriage, and death records I have put
the people who lived in Lindesberg, Orebro, Sweden parish into families using
a program call Personal Ancestral File (P. A. F.). I can share any of this information
using Gedcom Files.
I have over 80,000 people in my computer of which about 200 are my relatives.
By doing the entire parish, I have picked up about 50 to 100 of the people who
are related to me. I have also been able to correct birth, marriage and death
dates listed in the clerical surveys.
I have been able to help about 30 other people who have ancestors form Lindesberg
trace back their genealogy.
Best Wishes
Brent Ericson
